PREGNANT IN LA

PREGNANT IN LA

I imagine what it would be like to be pregnant in LA. This wouldn’t be a normal thought for me if I didn’t have a boyfriend who desires kids and to move back to Los Angeles ASAP after I graduate from my MFA program in NYC. I am also 35, which didn’t seem like a [...]

ART SCHOOL AND PERIODS IN PROVENCE

ART SCHOOL AND PERIODS IN PROVENCE

It’s been a long time since I’ve written. I’ve drafted many posts, but haven’t had the time to post them. My focus has been on applying to graduate school. I just made the decision to not apply to any creative writing MFA programs. I feel as though my head wants to go, but my heart [...]

I HAVE A MUSIC CRUSH ON RYAN BINGHAM!

I HAVE A MUSIC CRUSH ON RYAN BINGHAM!

I’m sitting in my car, knowing full well that my ice-cream is melting, listening to Ryan Bingham on Los Angeles’ 89.9, KCRW (National Public Radio). I have a huge music crush on him. If only I had an ice-cold Bud Light, filtered Camel and a pickup on the open road. Goddamn Ryan Bingham. Ryan, if [...]

WHO I WAS vs. WHO I AM

WHO I WAS vs. WHO I AM

I’m at a very strange place in my life right now. I’m 33. I’ve been married. I moved from NYC to Los Angeles almost three years ago. I’m not married anymore, but I’m in a solid relationship. All I have to go on is my history. My history is this: I was an “athlete” of [...]

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL

I’ve been thinking about going back to school. Possibly a Performance Art Program or MFA Acting Program. I really love my writing job, but I feel that I should be back in school — in a program that will allow me to make new work. I had a solid career as a performance artist and [...]

DO THE RIGHT THING

DO THE RIGHT THING

Do the right thing. Sometimes you don’t realize how much people matter to you until they are gone or you’ve pushed them away. I’m 33 years old and I am at a critical point in my life. This time it’s not about me; it’s about my friends. In particular, my girlfriends. I’m losing them. I’m [...]

I NEED TO LIVE ALONE

I NEED TO LIVE ALONE

I went to look at an apartment tonight to share with a roommate in a cool area in Los Angeles. On the way home, I stopped by 7-Eleven and grabbed some soda and pretzels. I couldn’t wait to get home to my place. To my cats. To my home. To my big room with wood [...]

LET’S TALK ABOUT OTHER SHIT BESIDES MYSELF

LET’S TALK ABOUT OTHER SHIT BESIDES MYSELF

Who needs a vacation from Jamie? ME!!!!! Today I hit rock-bottom, and I called my PR person and said, “I’m so sick of looking at pictures of myself almost naked. I AM OVER MYSELF. I feel fucking narcissistic cunt and I am done. I don’t want to see another picture of myself with bagels.” Strangely [...]

JEWISH CALENDAR SHOOT: DAY TWO – IN THE STUDIO

JEWISH CALENDAR SHOOT: DAY TWO – IN THE STUDIO

Day Two at the photography studio of Paul Smith Photography. The man is a genius artist and photographer. This day was one of the hardest day for EVERYONE. We did 26 different photo-looks for the calendar. Yes, that is a peep bra. I have to say, it’s the greatest costume I have ever made.

PICTURES FROM SHOOT PREPARATION – HUSBAND SAVES SHOOT!

PICTURES FROM SHOOT PREPARATION – HUSBAND SAVES SHOOT!

My photographer told me, “The hard part is the preparation,” and it was a killer. We cooked, we shopped, we didn’t sleep. Looking back…it was kinda’ fun.

TWO DAYS OF SHOOTING FOR 22 HOURS, AND WE ARE DONE!

TWO DAYS OF SHOOTING FOR 22 HOURS, AND WE ARE DONE!

Hi Everyone! We finished the Jewish Calendar Photo shoot! I have to say, it was incredible. Each day took about 11 hours and we even had an earthquake! We made kugel, charoset and falafels. We rented giant shofars. We got an lulav from Israel. We summoned God! It WAS holy. It was the most elaborate [...]

HUSBAND CANNOT WAIT FOR CALENDAR TO BE OVER!

HUSBAND CANNOT WAIT FOR CALENDAR TO BE OVER!

This calendar has totally affected my life. For me, it’s been great. For my husband, he cannot wait until I finish it. Why? Probably because I’ve been ultra-focused, busy, spending money and distracted. I mean, we still spend lots of time together, and I’m a happier wife. I think the problem stems from the fact [...]
